Long Island Star Chapter 278
Welcome to the Long Island Chapter 278 web site! If you are new to STAR or if you would
like to know more about our chapter and membership, please email our Chapter President,

Our regular monthly meetings are held on the
FIRST TUESDAY of each month at 7:30 pm at the Sachem Public Library.
Riders interested in joining our chapter should arrive at 7:00 pm to
be greeted by our members.
What's New at Chapter 278?
Veteran's Turkey Day Ride
Saturday, November 22nd
On Saturday November 22nd, 2008 we will have our Annual Veteran's Turkey Day Ride.
We will meet at the Gulf station on the north west corner Exit 56 of the LIE at 10:00
am and put Kick Stands Up at 10:30 am sharp !!! After an hour-long ride-about,
we will arrive at the Veteran's home in Yaphank. A Thanksgiving-type meal, will
be delivered at 11:30 courtesy of Laura and the LOS. We will hang with the Veterans
for a couple of hours and then be on our way. Laura and the LOS are also arranging
for gift baskets for each of the Yaphank residents, however, I think it would also
be nice if we could each bring an item of clothing to give the guys. Shirts, pants,
underwear, socks, gloves, coats, etc., new or slightly used would be appreciated
by the guys. These do not need to be gift wrapped.
I look forward to seeing everyone on the 22nd. This is a rain or shine event,
four wheels or two, either way, it's on.
